All right. It's November 15th which means it's officially close enough to the holidays that I can be concerned. In honour of this occasion I've decided to do my good deed for the year.
We're going to have a Christmas party. Furthermore preceding this, we will be having a Secret Santa. I've already spoken to mother about this and she's agreed that it would be perfectly lovely to have the get-together at home. Everyone is obviously invited- I think one of the nicest things about the holidays is learning to get on with strangers. It's healthy. I will however need people to RSVP- if you could reply to this entry with whether or not you're coming by the 30th of the month I would appreciate it. I'll draw names for the gift-giving on the 1st and hopefully that will give everyone enough time to find a gift. Please keep the price of your gifts to 16 Sickles or less and within good taste.

A note to the curious: I know that very often charming household items to see what will happen if you have chairs that try to eat their occupants, bathtubs that will only fill with custard, and chandeliers that intermittently detatch from their bolts and fly about the house, swinging their jeweled fixtures at anyone unwary enough to be living there at the time can be very tempting. I know that sometimes you just have to know what will happen if you add scarab beetles to your Calming Draught, or if the rumours about unicorn hair and doxy wings are true.
Let me tell you now that you will regret following through on these impulses.
There are some people who are paid to investigate these matters. They usually work in the Department of Mysteries and from what I can tell, have limited social skills; possibly as a result of excessive head trauma from repeated encounters with dancing mops. For the sakes of your livelihoods, your loved ones, and indeed your lives I beg of you to stop. We are tired of treating wounds brought on by recklessness and willful stupidity. Your kneazle does not want to aid you in your quest for a breakthrough anti-dandruff potion. Playing Quidditch with a garden gnome is never a good idea. No one wants to have to see the creative use you found for your best friend's wand. Please rely instead on unwillingly acquired injuries: trip at the top of some stairs and break your arm. Catch a flu. Walk into a glass door. It will be so terribly much easier to treat you, and your Mediwitches and Healers will be much more capable of keeping a straight face when dealing with you.

PRIVATE. I dont understand this isn't like him and mumm doesnt understand anything we asked her and asked her all night until I couldnt take it and I broke my favourite mug and now Eric is being stupid and I don't understand how to make Emma feel better or protect anyone and I shouldnt have to protect anybody because I'M ONLY A MEDWITCH WHEN I WORK and he wasnt supposed to do this this isn't like him and I tried to write a letter to the Ministry but I dont know if he qualifies as a missing person yet and I think its being taken care of but I dont know what to do and mums so heartbroken and they never fought like this before and I dontknowwhattodo IdontknowwhattodoIdontknowwhattodo.
EMMA.I think we need to make his status as a missing person official, if only to shame him into correcting his behaviour. I hardly see what Mother could have done to warrant this sort of maltreatment. I'm not very familiar with the Ministry so you will have to help me make enquiries to what the proper path for complaining is. Could you aid me in contacting the DMLE tomorrow? Thank you.

Happy belated birthday Florence. I apologize for not making it to your party: I'm afraid work gave me an awful migraine and I had a quick nap which turned into several hours' sleep. I'll take you out to dinner soon to correct this. I hope you enjoy your lightsabre.
